We met on Hinge, even though we were somehow outside of each other’s distance radius. We had both paid for the subscription, but by some little bit of luck (or fate), we matched anyway.

Our first conversation started with something simple -Christmas lights. What began as a small chat quickly turned into something special.

Not long after, we planned our first date at the Renaissance Fair in Waxahachie, Texas. We met for breakfast beforehand… both of us dressed in full Viking gear. Yes, the whole look. It might have raised a few eyebrows from the other breakfast guests, but it made the start of our first date unforgettable.

After breakfast, we headed to the fair and spent the day wandering, laughing, and enjoying the adventure together. What we thought would be a fun afternoon turned into a 15-hour date filled with good food, great conversation, and a lot of laughter.

By the end of the day, neither of us wanted the date to end. It was easy, exciting, a little ridiculous in the best way, and it felt like the start of something really special.
